‘Neal Boortz Show’ Producer Royal Marshell Dies: 43-year-old Marshall died early Saturday, but the cause of death has yet to be released. He told his wife that he wasn’t feeling well and walked into a bathroom in their home and collapsed.
He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital but could not be revived.
“I’ve lost my other half,” said Belinda Skelton, executive producer for the Neal Boortz show. “It’s so surreal.”
Marshall worked with Boortz for 17 years. He and Skelton were interviewed for a board operator job at WSB radio at the same time and were both hired for the one position because the station couldn’t choose between them, Skelton said. The both later joined the Boortz show.
“My heart is just completely broken,” Boortz said Saturday afternoon, “I loved him like a brother.”
Marshall is survived by his daughters–2-year-old Ava and 4-year-old Amira, and his wife, Annette.
